Daddy's Little Helper

Phil was calling out to me a little while ago.  He was out in the garage fixing his car.  I got out there and this is what I see.

It was so cute to see Charlie under the car helping Phil.  He had to lay down under the car just like his daddy.  He was passing Phil tools and trying to help fix Daddy's car.

So I had to run back inside and get the camera. Moments like these are perfect for capturing on film. Even better to scrap with.

Christmas Party 2010

What a totally fantastic day.  For the staff Christmas party this year I decided to surprise everyone with a trip to the Hunter Valley (NSW) in a stretch Hummer.  What a way to travel.  I even threw in a few fake hints to throw the staff off!!  Got to love a good surprise.  So we headed off from our place to the Hunter.

Our first stop was Peterson Champage House.  The first place I had to go here was the Chocolate Shop.  Have to say, I so love the smell when you walk into the shop.  We then headed off to our private wine tasting on the deck overlooking the vineyard.  Our tasting guid, Joe the Kiwi was great fun.

After Peterson's we headed off to Tempus Two.  We had a private cheese tasting at the Smelly Cheese shop.  There were lots of gourmet foods to be tasted and purchased.  And I did!!  We then headed off to The Hunter Resort for lunch and our own private dining room.  The food was fantastic and very tasty.  After lunch we all felt like a nanna nap, instead we just chilled out and had a couple of drinks.

We then headed to Pokolbin Estate for some more yummy food tasting including olives, jams and olive oils.  We also had some great entertainment from a bonds underwear model.  What an experience!!

Our last stop was a little added extra.  We headed back to Tempus Two for some yummy gelato.  This was a perfect end to a perfect day.  We then all piled back into the Hummer and headed home.  I am so glad that I was able to have such a great day with the staff.  I really love being able to show my appreciation for the people that work for me and make my job so much easier.  Thanks to you all!!

The Shenton Family 2010

Wow this year has gone so quickly.  It has not been the best of years for our family, but it is still easy to pick out some things that I really loved about this year.  This is a double page layout that I completed in my Bigpicture Class.

I am not sure that I like our ages on the page but it does add to it.  Phil is not even 40 yet, but he will turn 40 on 18 December, so not long now.  I have to say that I struggled to remember my age!!   Is that normal?? This layout is pretty simple but really effective.

This was my favourite part of the layout.  I got to write what I love best about my kids.  I am not really into journalling but this was easy.  I am so lucky that I have Phil.  He is an amazing photographer.  He always seems to just capture the boys perfectly.

I love my family so much and I am so lucky to have them.  Family is not always there, so make sure you capture them now.  Once a memory is gone is it fogotten forever.  Scrap it and it will never be forgotten.

Thanks for stopping by.

The Eyes have it

This is another 11" x 8.5" layout.  This is a great photo of Joe.  Phil was preparing for a wedding shoot by using the kids in different locations.  I just love Joe's eyes in this photo.  He has so much expression in his eyes.

I cut out several gears from Grunge paper using the Gadget Gears die.  I inked them with Black Soot Distress ink and then used clear embossing powder to give this cool effect.  I used a heat gun and gave them a good blasting of heat.  The embossing powder was really bubbling and they looked fantatic when they cooled down.

Scardey Cat

This page was great fun to do.  This is a picture of our cat Dora (yes Dora the Explorer).  I have used lots of the new Tim Holtz dies.

I have used the Rickety House Die.  I cut two and inked one with Black Soot Distress Ink and then clear embossed it.  The second one I inked with Bard Door and a little Black Soot on the edges.  I then used foam mounting tape to stick them together.  The fence was cut from Kraft cardstock using the On the Fence die.  I then typed the words for the title on the computer, printed onto white Bazzil cardstock and cut it out.

For the tree I used the Tim Holtz Branch Tree die.  It was cut out from Grunge paper.  I used Vintage Photo Distress Ink and then clear embossed the tree.

The black card stock was 11" x 8.5".  I also used a chipboard Ghost that I coloured white. (Thanks Sherry).
